When You have to push.

Primary Text: Mark 5:25-34

Have you ever been in a place where you needed God to answer a prayer? What do you do when he doesn’t seem to answer your prayer? What do you do when you have to push?

The woman with the issue of blood was sick for 12 years with an undisclosed issue that rendered her legally unclean (By the law she had to live outside the city), until one day she heard about Jesus.

The woman made it clear within herself that she would not leave until she got what she know God could give her. She pushed and she pushed past the swelling throng of people, thinking, if I can only touch the hem of his garment, I know I will be made whole. Finally, after what felt like ages of pressing she heard the words of The Great Physician, “Who touched me?” The disciples mildly rebuked Jesus by saying, “Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?” Maybe her weak touch had been unnoticed by the Master? Until she heard the words, “Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”

Let this story be a reminder, when you have to push past all the issues… a simple touch from the master will do.

Paul said in his Epistle to the Thessalonians:

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I Thessalonians 5:17-18
